Ms.Hughes is responsible for soil carbon cycling data collection at the Howland site as part of The Woods Hole Research Center's soil carbon and nitrogen program. She conducts field measurements of soil CO2 flux and concentrations, soil water content, and soil temperature. Prior to her WHRC position, Ms. Hughes managed the TeMP (Temperature Manipulation Project) at Howland. She received her B. S. in Natural Resources at the University of Maine.
